Thanks for the alternative way. Since the option is only available for charts, I'll go on to take over the exception from BEx. In addition I'm curious to find out the cause for the problem 
The version of Design Studio (as I can see it from eclipse) is 13.0.3.201405141058 [Release 1.3]. Does this answer your question for the SP?
